Frequently asked questions:
My child isn’t interested in playing hockey, should they still attend?
Absolutely. The sessions are structured so that your child will have the opportunity to learn the basics of skating in an atmosphere that is non-competitive and fun. While there is a progression towards hockey, it is not mandatory.
Does my child really need all this equipment?
Yes. This equipment is necessary for safety reasons especially for first time skaters who tend to fall a lot. Additionally, your child will be safe from accidentally being hurt from another skater.
Where can I buy the equipment?
Most sports stores will have skating equipment. Whereas most children grow very quickly, used equipment is an affordable option. Pure Hockey and Play It Again Sports are good sources.
What should my child wear?
Comfort is the key: warm sweatpants and a sweatshirt to wear under the practice jersey are ideal.
